For Best Results

ORGANIC MECHANICS®PREMIUM BLEND POTTING SOIL | Purchase

• Premium Blend is ideal for growing food in containers, indoor plants, transplanting and tropical plants.

• Cut your watering time in half! Our compost-based mix retains moisture much better than traditional peat-based mixes. Only water when soil is dry. Watch our video on How-To Water to learn more!

• For best results, fertilize with organic fertilizer after 3-4 weeks of growth. Follow the directions on the label of the product you purchase at your local independent garden center.

• Harvest twice as much! Our research trials showed tomatoes grew twice as large, with twice as many fruits when grown in Premium Blend, as compared to our competition.

• Reuse it! Since our mixes are compost-based, they do not break down as quickly as peat-based mixes. In spring, or fall, simply fluff the mix back up, remove any large root balls (put them in the compost pile) and then replant! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Love your potting soil!

ORGANIC MECHANICS® CONTAINER BLEND POTTING SOIL | Purchase

• Excellent drainage properties, yet holds moisture well. Container Blend utilizes rice hulls and pine bark to give it exceptional drainage, so it can be used for large container plantings, 2 gallon up to 50 gallon containers.

• Perennials and woody plants love Container Blend!

• Add organic fertilizer for best results. Add your favorite organic fertilizer at planting time. We recommend organic fertilizers for best results. Ask your local independent garden center for suggestions on organic fertilizers. Then usually have a couple options. Go with an all-purpose, balanced fertilizer, or go for one specific to your application. Example: Veggie fertilizer for the veggie garden, Citrus fertilizer for oranges, lemons, limes, etc.

• Reuse it! Since our mixes are compost-based, they do not break down as quickly as peat-based mixes. In spring, or fall, simply fluff the mix back up, remove any large root balls (put them in the compost pile) and then replant! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Love your potting soil!

ORGANIC MECHANICS® Worm Castings | Purchase

• Worm Castings create wonderful soil structure and add beneficial biology to the root zone.

• Use in planting hole at planting time: use 0.5lb per four inch transplant, place in hole after digging, and mix into surrounding soil before planting.

• Make worm castings “tea” by steeping 1lb. Worm castings in 1-gallon water. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds, let castings settle to bottom of container, then pour off liquid fraction of solution. Stop before pouring out casting particles, and repeat until tea turns light brown in color, then pour out any remaining castings as mulch on your favorite plant.

• Worm castings do not burn plant roots, and yes, they are worm poop!

August brings the heat to ripen so many fruits and veggies, especially hot peppers. Don’t forget to keep things watered if you’re not getting consistent rain, and fertilize one last time if needed to push the remaining fruits to grow and ripen.
